Samhain Lino print black on white Satogami paper

£25.00

Samhain, the most important date on the Witches calendar, marks the Pagan new year celebrating death and rebirth. The veil between our world and the spirit realm is at its thinnest, allowing the souls of those that have passed to wander the earth for one night. Villagers would carve frightening faces into turnips, potatoes or gourds to scare away the wandering demons. The glowing pumpkins would become known as Jack-o’-lanterns, an iconic symbol of modern day Halloween.

This print was carved by hand in a Lino block and then printed on to Japanese Satogami paper. Due to the handmade nature of the medium, details may vary slightly with some imperfections, making each print unique and individual, adding charm and character to the process.

Approximate sizing- 30cm x 30cm, paper is hand cut so may vary by a few millimetres.

Paper- 80gsm white Satogami paper
